AZALEA was honored to be an invited speaker at the Kellenberger + Tollefson Center for LGBTQ+ Philanthropy Moments of Impact event in May 2025 where we emphasized the critical importance of "seeing" LGBTQ+ older adults and supporting the organizations who support them.
AZALEA shares local concerns in response to the impact of recent federal executive orders on LGBTQ+ older adults.
AZALEA was featured by KJZZ who sat in on a recent meeting to learn about our efforts to strengthen networks of support for LGBTQ2S+ older adults in Arizona!
In November 2024, Megan McCoy and Tena Alonzo presented "A Community-Based Participatory Approach To Building Alliance with LGBTQ2S+ Older Adults" at the Gerontological Society of America annual conference in Seattle, WA. The workshop highlighted successes and lessons learned from AZALEA's inaugural LGBTQ2S+ Aging Equity Forum and how these are informing future research development and design.
